Teri Kleinberg, MD

Dr. Kleinberg grew up in sunny Southern California and migrated to the East Coast for her undergraduate training in Biology at Harvard College, graduating with honors in 2003. She then received the John Finley Travelling Fellowship, which sponsored her for a one-year project collecting home cooking recipes around the world. After this, she moved to England where she pursued a two-year master degree in the Science and Medicine of Athletic Performance at the University of Oxford. She then attended University of Massachusetts Medical School right here in Worcester where she received her medical degree (MD) in 2010 as well as being elected to the medical honors society Alpha Omega Alpha and winning the Student Teacher Award for developing an exercise medicine elective. Her combined interests in microsurgery and longitudinal patient care led her to an ophthalmology residency at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, PA, one of the top training centers in the US. After graduating in 2014, she stayed on for a fellowship in Oculoplastic, Orbit, and Skull Base Surgery with Dr. Jurij Bilyk.

She joined Worcester Ophthalmology Associates directly out of fellowship in 2015. She continues teaching at UMass Medical School as part of the Leadership and Professionalism course for senior medical students.  She lives in the area with her husband and three children, and enjoys cooking, painting, SCUBA diving, travel, and the outdoors.

Dr. Kleinberg is currently accepting new patients, and provides surgical and medical care of a wide variety of eye disorders including cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, dry eye, ptosis (droopy lids), periocular skin cancers, and thyroid eye disease. She has a particular interest in small-incision cataract surgery combined with advanced-technology intraocular lenses (toric, presbyopia-correcting) as well as minimally-invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS) combined with cataract surgery. Her interest in art and aesthetics is translated into cosmetic evaluations and cosmetic treatments including botulinum toxin (Xeomin), fillers (Restylane), and cosmetic upper and lower eyelid surgery.
